Sorry for the absence here lately. I went back to work last week, so I haven’t had as much time for blogging, but I hope to get back to it regularly.
I’m now editor of Cincy Mazgazine. Subscriptions are free. It’s a great crew and a growing magazine. So I hope readers here will subscribe and follow our work there, as well. We have some great articles and topics coming up, and I think Cincy can be the genuine voice of Cincinnati that has been missing from the local print media.
So, catching up. Let’s start with some news that’s as welcome as a political springtime in a Soviet winter:
As they say in the ShamWow ads — Wait, there’s more. It looks like the contagious push-back is spreading. Republicans are also pulling ahead in the polls in Ohio. John Kasich is now leading Gov. Ted Strickland, and Rob Portman is leading Democrats Lee Fisher and Jennifer Brunner in the race for the U.S. Senate to replace Republican George Voinovich.
But wait — it gets even better. For liberal Massachusetts to put a Republican on the Kennedy throne is like having Glenn Beck become publisher of the New York Times. Unthinkable. It would be a historic Slap-Chop to Democrats and the failed philosophy of liberal socialism.
But that’s how angry voters are. And if Scott Brown wins the Senate race against Democrat Martha Coakley — or even comes within the margin of ACORN fraud — Democrats will scramble for the lifeboats to escape the sinking Obamacare Cruise Ship.
If it can happen in Massachusetts, where Democrats outnumber registered Republican by three to one, it can spread like a brush-fire across the country.
Or, to use a more historic analogy that fits the way a musket fits a Minuteman, and Lexington fits liberty: Massachusetts could once again fire the shot heard round the world.

I think I’d hold off on the happy dance for now. Remember, Massachusetts is the state that instituted what is essentially ObamaCare under a Republican governor (with magic underpants).
Congratulations on your new job Pete!
The race in Mass. has really got me excited. It shows that perhaps the American people still have the will to fight back against those trying to take our freedoms. Even in a heavily Democrat state, people are willing to vote against their own party for the good of the country.
Pete,
I am not generally a gloater, but tonight listening to Olberman, Maddow, and Matthews try to explain how this loss could be a victory was hysterical. They even managed to blame Bush. lol. The Tea Parties don’t seem quite as insignificant anymore. My personal belief is this is just the beginning, and it’s a direct comment to Obama’s Big Government knows best philosophy. Good luck with your new job.
Warm congrat’s on the new job — really, really glad you’re going to continue to be around.
Thanks for all the great comments. I appreciate it.
